A 39-year old man awaiting sentence for a string of domestic-related offences has failed in a bid to be released on bail to visit his dead son's graveside.
Madden, whose address was given as HMP Maghaberry, attended today's hearing via a videolink with the prison. Telling Judge Richard Greene KC that Madden's criminal history indicated he presented a danger to females, Ms Pinkerton said the potential risks, if he was released on bail, were significant. The Crown barrister also spoke of Madden's criminal history which includes the multiple charges he is being sentenced for next Tuesday as well as previous violent offences against other female partners.
In response to the Crown's submissions, Mr Toal acknowledged that whilst Madden "played no part" in his son's early life, they did have a relationship in more recent years and had "regular" contact.
