Everton manager Sean Dyche doesn't want Jarrard Branthwaite to leave Goodison Park this summer as the likes of Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for the 21-year-old
Sean Dyche says he is hopeful Everton will not need to sell Jarrad Branthwaite this summer in order to comply with the Premier League's financial regulations - insisting you only sell good players if there's a problem.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are the two standout names who have been linked with a move for Branthwaite, who spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before returning to Goodison Park in the summer, but Dyche was keen to stress that he doesn't want the club to cash in on the defender despite Everton recently being charged by the Premier League for recording losses in excess of the permitted £105m.
"You only sell players if you have to sell players or there’s a problem. There’s no problem, therefore I’m just hoping we don’t need to sell players. At the minute, we certainly don’t so we will see.” Such a difficult financial position had previously led Everton to cash in on the talents of Anthony Gordon, who joined Newcastle United in January 2023, and Richarlison, who made the move to Tottenham Hotspur six months earlier.
