The Money Saving Expert has shared his 'golden rule'
The consumer champion returned to This Morning yesterday to dish out some more valuable financial advice. The Money Saving Expert was frustrated as he heard from a viewer named Richard, who had been targeted by scammers.
"Lately we've been getting phone calls from a third party saying they are from Legal and General and are looking to improve the policy. When they ask me, they use m abbreviated name, Rick. They also say they have other information, which is wrong and they also say they have spoken to you, Martin." Martin went on to share the "golden rule" if you are concerned you may be getting targeted by a fraudster. He said: "Never give any personal details, never give any password details to someone calling you.
"Use another phone or you wait an hour or two before calling back. Find the number for yourself on the internet, call them up. If they've got a third party helping them, they will know about it and probably tell you."
