Manchester United news as Mason Greenwood has committed his future to Jamaica after giving up on an England recall
Jamaica manager Steve McClaren has already weighed in on Mason Greenwood 's impending international switch, with the forward seemingly giving up on an England recall. The former Manchester United and current Marseille player made his only appearance for the Three Lions against Iceland in 2020 but has now pledged his future to the Reggae Boyz following clarity from the Football Association that he wouldn't be selected for England duty.
Should Greenwood's international allegiance be formalised, it would secure a reunion with former United assistant McClaren - and it seems Greenwood is clearly keen at the prospect of a reunion with his former coach.
"He's been here, he's been there – the publicity, and I think he just wants to settle in at Marseille and enjoy his football, which he's doing, and he wants to join the Reggae Boyz. I know that. Every time I speak to him, I've no reason to doubt that, and the process goes on," reports the Mirror. Last year, McClaren indicated his hope for Greenwood to be ready for the national team by the March international games. Now, with Greenwood's recent actions, the possibility seems stronger.
