Manchester United have struggled for goals this season while Mason Greenwood has been scoring for fun with Marseille in Ligue 1
The forward departed Old Trafford after non-football matters led to United deciding 'it would be most appropriate for him' to continue his career away from the club. Greenwood's departure left United searching for a replacement.
In his first year, he was used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite arriving in the Premier League with plenty of expectation. Interim manager Ralf Rangnick happily waved the Ivorian off to Rangers on loan despite halting a similar loan exit for Anthony Elanga. By January 2023, there were calls for Ten Hag to recall Amad from his loan spell which he overlooked as the forward continued to flourish. The Dutchman refused to send Amad out on loan again last season but he was not utilised as much as he perhaps should have been.
In the early days of Amorim's tenure, Amad has become the biggest success story. Now he is becoming the player that United can build around and has taken the mantel that could have belonged to Greenwood.
