While some outlets are reporting October could bring a "heatwave" to the UK, Met Office experts have given their verdict.
Wednesday looks pretty similar, and looking ahead to the weekend the Met Office predicts it will be "often changeable with sunshine and scattered showers". That said, temperatures are "more likely to be above average than below", with an increased chance compared with normal of some warm spells, but also some cooler nights. For context, the average temperatures for Merseyside in October are between 8.47C and 14.24C.
