An outgoing Lancashire MP has come under fire with local politicians saying she needs to stand down sooner rather than later
and allow a new MP to be elected.

The leader of local political party Our West Lancashire, Councillor Adrian Owens, has urged the MP to stop using local residents as, what he says, 'pawns'. He said it was more than seven weeks since she had announced her decision to leave and claimed the MP was not fulfilling her role.
Ms Cooper said at the time of her announcement that she would be leaving and that she was "very sad" that her time in West Lancashire had come to an end but events had "undoubtedly taken their toll" over the last few years.
