Herts Fire and Rescue rescued 'several' people from a derelict building fire in Clarendon Road.
Two fire engines from both Watford Fire Station and Garston Fire Station were called to a blaze at a vacant building in Clarendon Road at 8.20pm yesterday .
Herts Fire and Rescue said the crews responding located"several people" inside and safely removed them from the building as they tackled the fire itself.Both the former RBS building and TJX’s former offices in Clarendon Road have been the site of antisocial behaviour recently as they remain vacant. Herts Police have previously said that they are working with Watford Borough Council to secure the former TJX building as passers-by reported graffiti, broken windows, and a trashed interior.Officers were called to the old RBS bank last year when there were reports that people had got inside. Upon entering, they found and recovered suspected stolen tools.
