Olympic swimming gold medalist Donna de Varona and iconic cheerleader Krazy George Henderson will serve as grand marshals.
The Santa Clara Parents Nursery School participates in the Santa Clara Parade of Champions in 2022. This year’s parade will take place Oct. 7, 2023. Santa Clara’s Parade of Champions will live up to its name on Saturday with Olympic gold medalist Donna De Varona as one of the event’s grand marshals.
This time, she’ll be joined by iconic cheerleader Krazy George Henderson, as well as Snoopy, Lucy and Charlie Brown characters from California’s Great America. The parade, which begins at 11 a.m., runs on Monroe Street, starting on Market and wrapping up on Thompson Street. But there’ll be plenty going on before and after, too, including the 8 a.m. Breakfast of Champions at the American Legion post on Homestead Road, opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. and “Salsa on the Street,” with dancing following the parade until 5 p.m.
