The Helldivers 2 developers have revealed a mechanic that was intended to be in the game and players want to see it added.
It isn’t uncommon for games to have many features scrapped during development, often due to time constraints. But with the advancement in technology that now allows for updates through the internet, these features can be added at a later date after the game has shipped. Helldivers 2 is no exception and saw planned mechanics removed to be able to ship the game on its planned date.
As it stands right now, all helmets have the same stats and state that they grant “No additional bonuses,” meaning that they are just for cosmetic purposes. Although it was scrapped due to time constraints, now that Pilestedt has switched his role to Chief Content Officer and is focusing on the development of the game, hopefully, this is something that he looks to implement in a future Helldivers 2 update.
