A recent rash of double entendre, cheeky or controversial business names is stirring debate in a state smack dab in the middle of America’s “Bible Belt.'
He recalled being interviewed by a “shock jock” radio show in Seattle whose hosts “wanted to make fun” of the situation “more than anything else.”

Joe Godfrey, a consultant, and former head of the conservative Alabama Citizens’ Action Group said that controversial business names were “reflective of a decline of our cultural standards” that he said Christian leaders have been complaining about for a long time. “We’re becoming more desensitized to what is rude, crude and vulgar,” Kennon said. “I don’t want to have to explain what ‘Bad Ass’ means to my 8-year-old. I asked someone the other day on if added a byline under that said, ‘The best Mother F’ing coffee in the world’ and whether they would be OK with that. Who draws the line and how do you draw the line?”
