Labour's Patrick Hurley is staying in cut-price accommodation in London
A new Lancashire MP has revealed that he is living in money-saving £80-a-night student accommodation. Patrick Hurley, who was voted in as MP for Southport, has been staying in a "cheap as chips" room at the London School of Economics .

He added that, although he knows of no other MPs in the same living situation, he knows others “living out of hotels” and “B&Bs".
He added: “MPs don't get provided with accommodation when they get elected, and it's all on ourselves to go and find somewhere to live. I don't want to come across a special pleading for members of parliament and say that things need to change to make our lives easier, because we're in a very privileged position.
