Lucy Letby was jailed for life last year for the murder of seven babies
Speculation surrounding Lucy Letby's conviction has been described as 'upsetting' for the families of her victims, according to a solicitor. The 34 year old nurse was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder six others, with two attempts on one infant, after an eight-month trial at Manchester Crown Court last year. She also faced a retrial where she was found guilty of the attempted murder of a seventh baby.
' Lucy Letby, convicted of offences while working as a neonatal nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016, stands as the fourth woman in UK history to receive a whole life term. In a recent report by the Guardian, it was stated notes written by Letby, including one reading 'I am evil I did this' which featured in the prosecution's case, were reportedly written following a counsellor's guidance.
