Tenet tickets are officially on sale at U.K. cinemas, with major chains Vue and Cineworld offering them as of midnight local time
The film’s release couldn’t come at a better time for U.K. cinemas, which have been largely starved of new releases during the pandemic. The weekend box office saw Russell Crowe thriller “Unhinged” holding fast onto the top spot with a gross £117,633 , butCinemas in England were allowed to reopen from July 4, but only AMC Theatres-owned Odeon opened doors at select locations at that point.
Warner Bros.’ decision in late July to launch “Tenet” in 70 overseas territories from Aug. 26 ahead of the U.S.,, has been welcomed by global cinema operators, who were nearing the end of their tether this summer with the studios’ ever-shifting release schedule in response to the pandemic. The release of “Tenet” is expected to be a major boon for movie theaters around the world.
