There's also a bigger emphasis on washed bootcut denim, which isn't particularly groundbreaking but acts as a nod to the brand's '70s roots. The casual mood of the collection show Slimane's mastery of merchandising and category dressing, a skill that he implemented at Saint Laurent with much success.
The classic bootcut jean in a medium wash was heavily used throughout, worn with platform heels or tucked inside boots.If it wasn't a jean, it was a full denim A-line skirt in patchwork construction that reached below the knee.Printed head scarves were wrapped as a turban in a variety of looks, which added to the early '70s mood of the collection.The main silhouette for Celine this season is a printed midi dress with a pair of knee-high leather boots.
