It's been featured in a list of the country's most Instagrammable 'mountains', alongside those in the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland
Mam Tor is one of the Peak District ’s best known beauty spots and a popular walk with hikers. Standing at 1,696ft tall, the hill offers incredible views across Castleton and Edale.
The hill was named the fourth most instagrammable ‘mountain’ in the UK, the only location in the Peak District to make the top ten. The study, conducted by holiday property experts at Wheelwrights, looked at hashtag data to crown the most photo-worthy mountains. Snowdon in North Wales topped the list with 544, 313 posts, while Scotland’s Ben Nevis came in second with 283,297 posts. Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons came in third, with 188,216 posts.
