Democratic Convention Ratings Steady on Second Night:
The audience for the Democratic National Convention was steady on Tuesday night, with the six largest networks drawing almost identical numbers to Monday's coverage.
Cable channels MSNBC, CNN and Fox News and broadcast networks ABC, CBS and NBC averaged about 18.6 million viewers in the 10 p.m. ET hour, when all six were covering the convention. That's nearly identical to the 18.68 million who watched the convention Monday night. Tuesday's viewer totals remained down from 2016, though not by quite as much as on Monday. The 18.6 million viewers who tuned in across the six major channels was off by 23 percent from four years ago, as opposed to 28 percent on Monday.
MSNBC led the 10 o'clock hour for the second straight night with 5.41 million viewers, up from 5.1 million Monday. CNN came in second, followed by NBC , ABC , Fox News and CBS . CNN topped the key news demographic at 10 p.m., drawing 1.3 million adults 25-54. MSNBC snagged 1.06 million viewers in the news demo. NBC led the broadcast nets with 592,000.was the most watched show on the broadcast networks with 5.58 million viewers. That and its 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 represent a second straight week of series lows for the show.
