Park Ridge police identified Miloje Markovic, 85, and Milena Markovic, 77, as the husband and wife killed Wednesday just after 11 a.m. when their 2007 Honda sedan crashed into a home on Oakton Street.

The Markovics resided in the 8400 block of Carol Street in Niles, according to a news release from Park Ridge police. That block intersects with Cumberland Avenue, less than a mile from where the Markovics’ car collided with the house.Witnesses reported seeing the car traveling at a very high rate of speed southbound on Cumberland Avenue, according to Park Ridge police.
The house was unoccupied when the car hit it, and a notice in the window indicated the home has been in foreclosure since late September. Park Ridge police said they are continuing to investigate the crash, with assistance from the MCAT Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
