Najee Seabrooks was experiencing a crisis, video shows
His voice sounded flat and calm when he called 911, but Najee Seabrooks said somebody was trying to kill him.
The video, partially redacted and edited down from the body cameras of seven police officers at the scene, gives only brief glimpses of Seabrooks, who stripped off his clothes and turned on a faucet as he holed up in the bathroom, authorities said. “So I’m calling ya’ll so ya’ll can come here because Paterson police are intercepting every call I make out.”
But Seabrooks didn’t come out and soon after the sounds of rushing water could be heard around 10:15 a.m., as Seabrooks flooded the bathroom of the apartment.
