On Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard District 7 shared the body camera video of the rescues.
Hurricane Ian caused the Sanibel Causeway to collapse, stranding people on Sanibel Island. The causeway was the island’s only access to the mainland. This damage left dozens stranded when the Coast Guard rushed in to help.
