CALABASAS — Viewpoint boys basketball player Andrew Younan has spent a lot of time looking at one specific banner that hangs in the school’s gym: The CIF Division 4-A championship banner of 2016.
“Every day since I’ve been in this program, I’ve looked at that banner and I’ve seen their names,” Younan said. “I want to be even better than that group. I know that they would want us to be even better than them.” Two other Viewpoint players finished in double figures with Osiris Nalls scoring 19 points to go with eight assists and Giovanni Goree adding 14 points and seven assists.
Nalls sank a 3-pointer early in the first quarter to give Viewpoint a 7-0 advantage. With roughly six minutes to go in the frame, Goree hit a 3-pointer, but Mt. Carmel had begun to catch up, 11-6.
