Woman's body found in partially-submerged SUV in Chula Vista [Breaking]
A woman’s body was found in an SUV that crashed and overturned into a water-filled drainage ditch in Chula Vista Wednesday morning, police said.
A city landscape employee called police about 10 a.m. after seeing a broken fence and a partially submerged Ford Explorer off Telegraph Canyon Road east of Interstate 805, Chula Vista police said. Officers and fire crews found the vehicle just north of the roadway, but they couldn’t get inside it because of how fast the water was flowing, police said. The city of San Diego’s Lifeguard River Rescue Team was called to assist, and the vehicle was pulled out of the water around noon.Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash at this time, and no other vehicles were involved.
Anyone with information about the collision was asked to call the department’s traffic bureau at 476-5320 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 580-8477.
