'I think there's probably a lot of kids that went to school in shock'
Commutes descended into chaos this morning as a black Mercedes ploughed into a bus stop, metres away from a Manchester Bee Network bus carrying workers and schoolchildren.
They watched as a black Mercedes was clawed away from the bus stop. The vehicle had also become lodged on top of a row of bins.Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.14am. Police officers taped off Tootal Drive, close to Salford Royal Hospital, which meets Eccles Old Road in Salford. The car had been wrecked in the collision, with it's front bumper hanging off, windows smashed, and airbags crowding the inside. The bus, too, had suffered serious damage with a side panel completely scraped, and windows smashed in.
