The Met Office said weather conditions 'look to turn increasingly warm'
Temperatures are set to climb to 25C today in what could be the start of the a 'mini heatwave' in our region.
Wednesday looks set to be the hottest day in the warm spell, with the mercury predicted to climb to 27C. Today is set to be largely sunny and warm, with some cloudy intervals forecast for this afternoon.Monday is expected to be another hot day as temperatures climb to a peak of 26C during the afternoon with sunny spells forecast. A similar picture is forecast on Tuesday, before the mercury peaks at 27C on Wednesday.
David Hayter, deputy chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: "As we go through the weekend, the jet stream will weaken to the west of the UK generating an area of high pressure that will slowly move in across the UK. High pressure means the air is sinking from higher in the atmosphere and that brings drier, settled and sunnier weather.
