Kersharn Dockery-Barnett stabbed to death Reece Connor on Christmas Day
A teenage murderer from Nottingham grew up in the foster care system and had no previous convictions when he stabbed a dad-of-two to death on Christmas Day. Boxing fan Kersharn Dockery-Barnett told Nottingham Crown Court about his young life when he gave evidence at a trial which ultimately saw him convicted of the most serious crime in English and Welsh law.
Mr Moulson said: “ had you ever been arrested?” The teen replied: “No, sir.” He asked: “Where were you born?” He replied: “In London, England, sir.” Mr Moulson said: “Was there any other education after that?” Dockeray-Barnett replied: “Yes, I was at college for around two to three months in the Basford area. I studied plastering.”
He said he then called for his foster cousin, Mr Morgan-Adlam, and minutes later there was a second confrontation - this time involving the three of them - which ended with the victim’s killing. “He was just screaming he was going to kill me, I feared that he had got a knife and was going to stab me and at that point he dropped it and he tried to punch me to get hold of the knife.”
