There’s something about getting out of the shower and lotioning up freshly-shaved legs that just feels, well, fresh. Not so much the case for the inevitable prickly stubble that comes after — especially if it pops up when you feel like youshaved and are not keen on taking another pass quite yet.
Dr. Hartmann says to shave from the bottom of your leg up, running your razor against the grain of your hair for the closest shave. And the “against the grain” strategy goes for other parts of your body, too — it just might be a bit more complicated. “If you’re shaving under your underarms, bear in mind that the hair grows in various directions, so it’s helpful to stretch the skin with your free hand to form a smooth surface for the razor,” Dr. Hartmann says.
