'Slow traffic' was reported near the airport
A crash led to the closure of a road near East Midlands Airport this afternoon . Leicestershire Police said that the road between the Donington services at J23A of the M1 and the A6 Island which links to Wilders Way was closed in both directions.
The force said the road closure would also affect the A453 Ashby Road and the A6 Kegworth Bypass. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said that an air ambulance was called to the scene after one person was injured in the incident.A spokesperson for the East Midlands Ambulance Service has said that five people were taken to hospital following the collision on the A453.We will now be ending our coverage here.
